How to Color Pennywise Pages in 3 Creative Ways

We’re going to share 3 ways of coloring this Pennywise coloring sheet using just a bit of different colors and shades! So pick up your favorite Pennywise printable above and go for some fun!

1. Make the Red Balloon Stand Out

Select an illustration of Pennywise offering a balloon as your example. He’s rendered in pale gray (for his clown suit) alongside a solid block of bright red (the balloon).

Here you can leave a little bit of white space along the top of the balloon to imply some light catching up there. You can shade one side of that with a really deep red to give it more dimensionality.

2. Add Shadows to a Derry Scene

When painting storm drains or sewers try this:

  • Paint your tunnel or drain walls as light grey first, then layer in dark grey shades to create some nice shadows.
  • Make sure Pennywise’s face remains lighter so that his face contrasts well from his background.

For those of you painting with the paper boat here’s what you can do: Paint your water in a muted blue to accentuate the paper boat’s white colors.

3. Give Cute Pennywise a Candy Palette

Once you’ve decided which design to use, a round balloon one or a clown with fluffy pom-poms, start by coloring his costume with lavender, peach, and mint green shades.

To make it more interesting, try to apply a bit darker color tone at the bottom of every pom-pom and draw some border to match its color. Once colored, you can display your cute Pennywise coloring page right away.
