Spook yourself out today with some horror coloring pages! These are great for anyone who loves scary themes. Some are just spooky enough, while others feature movie villains we all know. And there are even a few pretty cool looking monsters, including a cute little ghost who seems to be tending cemetery flowers.

5 Tips to Color Horror Coloring Pages
If you want to add some fun to your prints, try out some of the ideas below, but also make sure there’s still space to put a little spark of brightness!
1. Start with a Small Color Palette
Before getting started, choose 3-4 color combinations (charcoal/purple/moss green/orange can work for you), and repeat these throughout your costume. It can get overwhelming if you try to incorporate all of these colors at once!
You’ll also want to make sure that there are still some small pieces of clothing, background items, or little object accents that tie everything together. This will keep things from becoming too cluttered!
2. Leave Room for the Light
Look at the scene with Michael Myers under this streetlamp. As always when painting an image from scratch, you’ll want to leave some areas more pale – particularly near the bulb itself – than others.
So that’s what you can do here too. Keeping those colors near the lamp paler (the yellow), while deepening up the shades in the pavement further away. And leaving some bits of white paper around to create a good contrast against that light.
3. Build Shadows Slowly
Try applying less pressure to your colored pencils when working on things like twisted tree roots, castle stonework, or even the folds of the reaper’s cloak.
You can always apply more dark color later as long you’re okay with how the rest of your horror coloring page looks.
4. Give Cute Monsters Softer Colors
For example, try lavender, peach and gentle blue colors for your tea drinking vampire bat. Use bright shades on its cup for creating a point of interest.
Don’t forget that friendly Halloween coloring pages don’t have to be with a black background. You can also use some colorful backdrops such as warm cream, pale pink, etc.
5. Save Bright Accents for Last
Focus on filling up large areas with color before adding red to give that clown’s balloon life, or green to surround an eerie portal, or amber to frame those windows in a haunted building.
These small accents help direct attention to specific areas of the page and ensure important visual elements stand out as much as possible, especially when working through intricate and detailed horror coloring pages for adults.
Grab a selection of colors, choose your favorite horror coloring pages, and go forth to fill them with color.
