How to Color Raven Pages in 5 Unique Ways

The raven has just one flat coat of black on it, but there are still a number of coloring options you can try with your bird. See some below!

1. Layer Blue and Purple Feathers

If you want to color a realist-style raven coloring page, you can use light gray as your starting point.

Then work on adding navy and purple shades towards the area of their wings and try to make sure that your pencils’ strokes are always pointing toward the tip of every feather.

2. Add a Moonlit Glow

Choose the raven by the crescent moon and shade the sky deep blue with a small white area around where the bird’s face is facing the moon. This helps make all of the black feathers pop off of their background.

3. Try Soft Woodland Colors

The scene depicts a woodland landscape of greens, rusty-reds, browns and the bird itself is in charcoal grey.

4. Make the Shiny Object Pop

First off, choose the bird that’s holding a key, then make sure the color of his feathers is all black. Then, color his key yellow and ochre, but leave a small portion of his key white to create a nice contrast.

This method can be used to dress up your pocket watch too – just give it a little bit of bright metallic highlight with some paint!

5. Build a Stormy Background

You’ll also want to use light grey pencil marks to color the background for the cute raven shaking off rain.

Then darken the cloudy areas where the upper corner regions are found on your printable. Let the drops remain as a soft pale blue so that you can easily see them among the colorful feathers.

Now choose your favourite raven coloring pages printables and grab your pencils to give every feathered friend a unique character!
